ORGANIC APRICOT

The geographical area best suited to organic apricot production is Basilicata, particularly the coastal plains of Metapontino, where the favourable geo-climatic characteristics means outstanding fruit can be grown without using chemical treatments. The apricot is rich in magnesium, phosphorus, iron, calcium, potassium, vitamins B, C, PP, and above all carotenoids, precursors of vitamin A. Two hundred grams of apricots provide an adult’s daily vitamin requirements. This fruit is recommended for those who suffer from anaemia or chronic fatigue, for convalescents, for the elderly and for growing children.
